Question:
Hi
The website says that the Spanish DIA form must be used. Can this be completed in English or does it have to be done in Spanish?

According to what I’ve read in the 218 Decree and in line with what Miguel said yesterday at the MundloMLS conference, the criteria is that all the information presented to the client is easily understood. Given that we are in Spain and the official language of the country is Spanish then it logically needs to be written in Spanish. Try to think of the situation being reversed. If you were in the UK and an inspector came along to your Spanish Estate Agency and asked for the equivalent DIA form and you presented it to him in Spanish… what kind of reaction would you get?!
Hope this helps.

Technically “in an clear and understandable manner for the consumer to make an informed economic choice” means “in Spanish” as far as decree 218/2005 is concerned
